RELEASE PLAY THERAPY FOR POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER

Children are usually at risk for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
The many factures that make them resilient can be regained through the use of
Release Play Therapy for Children with PTSD. This Play Therapy uses the
child's natural methods of dealing with difficulties to help him/her work
through and master the traumatic event. Participants will be doing some
experiential work during this workshop. The didactic presentation will be
enhanced by illustrations of real case videos.
INSTRUCTOR: Heidi Kaduson, Ph.D., RPT-S is a licensed clinical psychologist and
registered play therapist-supervisor. She is in private practice in Monroe
Twp., New Jersey.
She has lectured throughout the world on the assessment and treatment of Attention
- Deficit - Hyperactivity Disorder and Play Therapy. She has conducted research studies on
the effectiveness of diverse treatment approaches for this childhood disorder. Dr.
Kaduson is director of the Play Therapy Training Institute and past
president/ board
member of the Association for Play Therapy. She is author and co-editor of books
entitled The Playing Cure, 101 Favorite Play Therapy Techniques, 101 More Favorite Play Therapy Techniques, The
Quotable Play Therapist, and Short-Term Play Therapy For Children.
