Seminar #153 BIBLIOTHERAPY FOR PLAY THERAPISTS INSTRUCTOR: Donna Cangelosi, Pys.D., RPT-S Sunday July 12, 2009 – 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This workshop will provide an overview of bibliotherapy and its effectiveness for working with children and parents involved in Play Therapy. A wide variety of metaphorical and therapeutic story therapy; separation anxiety; fears; sibling rivalry; divorce; illness and hospitalization; death and dying; ADHD; learning disabilities; and peer relations. The key components for writing metaphorical story books will also be discussed and each participants will have an opportunity to create their own storybook. Participants are welcome to bring their favorite books to share with the group. INSTRUCTOR: Donna Cangelosi, Pys.D., RPT-S, is a licensed psychologist and registered play therapist-instructor who brings over 15 years of clinical experience with children, adolescents, adults and families to her workshops. She is co-editor of Play Therapy Techniques and The Playing Cure and author of Saying Goodbye in Child Psychotherapy as well as several chapters dealing with psychodynamic play therapy. Dr. Cangelosi maintains a private practice with children, adolescents and adults in Upper Montclair, NJ where she provided psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and parent education.
