| Seminar #242 To ensure the highest quality of professional services, play therapists need effective supervision (or case consultation). Objective feedback and guidance from an experienced play therapist fosters the professional development of the less experienced play therapist and helps to ensure that the public is well-served. Many complex issues arise in the practice of play therapy that range from complicated clinical situations to ethical dilemmas to legal issues. It is of utmost importance that play therapists learn to use supervision effectively and that the supervisor remain educated him/herself in order to provide state-of-the-art supervision or case consultation. To ensure this, the Association for Play Therapy now requires Registered Play Therapist-Supervisors to obtain supervision training, a requirement that is partially met through this workshop. The workshop covers the issues and skills needed for effective supervision, illustrated by a live demonstration and small group practice. INSTRUCTOR: Risė VanFleet, Ph.D., RPT-S, is a licensed psychologist and is the founder and President of the Family Enhancement and Play Therapy Center, Inc., a clinic and training center located in Boiling Springs, PA.
