| Seminar #250 Group play therapy methods can be used to help children reach both therapeutic and educational goals. The social interactions and light-hearted atmosphere of group play interventions can assist with the development of social skills, self-awareness, problem-solving skills, self-confidence, team building, and creativity. In addition to learning numerous group play therapy techniques, participants will learn how to select specific activities, how to process the activities with group members to maximize learning and personal change, and how to integrate group play therapy within a larger educational or therapeutic program. Potential classroom activities will be included. The methods covered are most applicable to latency-aged children, adolescents, and adults. Participants should dress informally as they will have an opportunity to learn many of the techniques experientially in a relaxed and nonthreatening climate.
