| Seminar #290 Techniques are the tools that play therapists use to help children resolve their psychological difficulties. In this seminar, a wide variety of techniques will be described, including fantasy techniques, storytelling techniques, expressive art techniques, game play techniques, puppet play techniques, play toys/objects techniques, and group play techniques, These play tools all meet the criteria of being specific, practical, and relatively easy to implement. In addition, they are based on solid theoretical frameworks and extensive practical application by play therapists around the world. They should be of interest to beginning and experienced play therapists of all theoretical orientations. Course Objectives: 1. Name three play therapy techniques that can be used to help children
communicate better. INSTRUCTORS: Heidi Kaduson, Ph.D., RPT-S is a licensed clinical psychologist and registered play therapist-supervisor. She is in private practice in Monroe Twp., New Jersey. She has lectured throughout the world on the assessment and treatment of Attention - Deficit - Hyperactivity Disorder and Play Therapy. She has conducted research studies on the effectiveness of diverse treatment approaches for this childhood disorder. Dr. Kaduson is co-director of the Play Therapy Training Institute and past president/ board member of the Association for Play Therapy. She is author and co-editor of books entitled The Playing Cure, 101 Favorite Play Therapy Techniques, 101 More Favorite Play Therapy Techniques, The Quotable Play Therapist and Short-Term Play Therapy For Children. Christian Davis M.A., is a doctoral fellow in the Psychology Department of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, NJ.
