#292
Instructor: Carol Mader, M.Ed., NCC, RPT-S School counselors are becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of using play therapy techniques and strategies in public and non-public schools alike. Attending this workshop will help you with ideas for overcoming obstacles that counselors face in setting up a playroom and informing teachers, parents and administrators about play counseling. You will find out how play therapy is used for students referred to Instructional Support Teams for life skills issues. You will participate in hands-on activities that support students who are “complainers, window shoppers and customers” to the counselors office. Videotaped segments of successful strategies will be presented. The purpose of this workshop is to help the school counselor leave with ideas for making play therapy part of their comprehensive school program.
