Seminar #101 This introductory course is designed to present a broad, state-of-the-art overview of the field of Play Therapy. Topics include: theories of play, therapeutic properties of play, developmental perspectives, history and major schools of Play Therapy, specific techniques and strategies, play equipment and materials, case illustrations, and research foundations. Videotapes of Play Therapy in action will supplement the didactic presentation. INSTRUCTOR: Heidi Kaduson, Ph.D., RPT-S is a licensed clinical psychologist and registered play therapist-supervisor. She is in private practice in Monroe Twp., New Jersey. She has lectured throughout the world on the assessment and treatment of Attention - Deficit - Hyperactivity Disorder and Play Therapy. She has conducted research studies on the effectiveness of diverse treatment approaches for this childhood disorder. Dr. Kaduson is co-director of the Play Therapy Training Institute and past president/ board member of the Association for Play Therapy. She is author and co-editor of books entitled The Playing Cure, 101 Favorite Play Therapy Techniques, 101 More Favorite Play Therapy Techniques, The Quotable Play Therapist, and Short-Term Play Therapy For Children.
