#294 The morning section of this workshop will include a review of the three main Disruptive Behavior Disorders – Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, and Attention Deficit Disorder. Assessment tools and diagnostic criteria will also be presented to assist the clinician in confirming a diagnosis. Special attention will be placed on understanding how these children see the world. The afternoon section of this workshop will cover many Play Therapy Techniques that YOU will be able to put into practice immediately. Activities that help children express feelings, regulate emotions, and accept limits will be covered. We will also review practical treatment considerations like working with parents and school to address behavior problems prior to serious incidents. INSTRUCTOR: Heidi Kaduson, Ph.D., RPT-S is a licensed clinical psychologist and registered play therapist-supervisor. She is in private practice in Monroe Twp., New Jersey. She has lectured throughout the world on the assessment and treatment of Attention - Deficit - Hyperactivity Disorder and Play Therapy. She has conducted research studies on the effectiveness of diverse treatment approaches for this childhood disorder. Dr. Kaduson is co-director of the Play Therapy Training Institute and past president/ board member of the Association for Play Therapy. She is author and co-editor of books entitled The Playing Cure, 101 Favorite Play Therapy Techniques, 101 More Favorite Play Therapy Techniques, The Quotable Play Therapist, and Short-Term Play Therapy For Children.
