Description:
Bereavement is a universal factor of life, and children’s grieving is easily confused with other symptoms in psychotherapy. Since children are exposed prematurely and increasingly to traumatic loss due to the escalation of violence in our society, this presentation will provide the guidelines for helping children based on developmental considerations and play therapy approaches. Specific play therapy techniques of drawing, doll-0play, and creative story-telling will be demonstrated in detailed case presentations.
