This is a didactic and experiential workshop designed to introduce participants to sand tray play therapy An overview of the necessary materials (sand, water, miniature objects) needed to set up and begin utilizing sand tray play therapy will be presented. Participants will have their own experience of working directly in the sand. They will explore how to invite, observe, experience and process this method of play therapy with their clients.

- Use different sources for collection of appropriate miniatures to use in sand play therapy.
- Learn how sand play therapy differs from similar play therapies.
- Create a sand tray experience through play.
- Understand different sand trays and what they mean for play therapy.
