Description:
Children begin forming beliefs about themselves early in life. Due to the pressures of competition, school achievement and the like, children are at high risk of developing low self-esteem. This results from the child having a poor self-image caused by a number of factors in their environment. The relationship of self-esteem to school achievement, crime, violence, and suicide emphasizes the need to help enhance a child’s self-esteem. When children have a high level of self-esteem, they are more confident, happy and sure of themselves. This workshop will cover facts about self-esteem, how play therapy can help enhance it, and also what parents and teachers can do to protect it.
